China’s satellite has captured a rare picture of a comet named Leonard passing very close to Earth. This is the first time in the last 70,000 years that a comet, known as the Green Comet, has come so close to Earth. In the year 2020, scientists discovered this comet. Since then this comet was moving at a speed of 1 lakh 60 thousand kilometers per hour. During this time, when this comet reached closest to the Earth, the Yangwang 1 telescope of China took a picture of this comet. On December 12, this comet was closest to Earth in 70 thousand years.
A video of it was also made by NASA’s Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory spacecraft (Stereo-A) and the European Space Agency (ESA) Solar Orbiter Observatory. STEREO-A has been monitoring the green comet since November. Dozens of his photographs have helped the NASA team create miniature animations. NASA has released several pictures to show the light emanating from the comet.

Scientists said that the inner part of this icy rock is closer to the Sun, it is hotter. First blue dust comes out, then yellow or white and finally green. The green tail means that this comet is very hot. It contains a lot of cyanide and diatomic carbon and is also prone to breakage. Centuries later, Comet Leonard will approach the Sun on January 3, 2022. To capture this event, NASA and ESA have sent their satellites in that direction. These ice and dust balloons are about 1 km wide.
