Former minister and BJP MLA Bayarethi Basavaraj in Karnataka has increased difficulties. The Karnataka police on Friday issued a notice to Basavaraj and directed to appear before the investigating officer in the Rowdishter murder case. Basavaraj Bengaluru KR Puram is an MLA from the assembly constituency. He has been made the fifth accused in this murder. Police sources said that they have been asked to appear before the authorities within 48 hours. Initial investigation has revealed that the MLA had a connection with Jagdish, the main accused in the murder. Sources have confirmed that the police have come to know that the main accused was in regular contact with the MLA.
A new twist in this case came on Thursday when the mother of the deceased turned to her statement and said that she never told the police the name of MLA Basavaraj and did not know how her name was included in the FIR. On the other hand, the Karnataka Home Minister reacted to this development. He said in Bengaluru on Friday that the complainant had insisted on making the BJP MLA an accused in the murder case. He said that the complainant pressured the police to include his name. Now, she is claiming that she never told the BJP MLA’s name to the police. The police issued a notice to the BJP MLA asking them to cooperate in the investigation. Asked about the rumors of the police involvement in the murder, God said that nothing has been confirmed yet and everything will be revealed during the investigation.
BJP leader attacked Congress
At the same time, while commenting on this development and criticizing the ruling party, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R.K. Ashok said that the Congress government is trying to suppress the opposition MLAs. In the Biklu Shiva murder case, his mother Vijayalakshmi has said that he did not file a complaint against Basavaraja; The police themselves added his name. This proves that to what extent the Congress government has suffered from the spirit of political revenge in this matter. The leader of the Karnataka Congress Party, who has been continuously accusing the central government of misusing CBI, Income Tax and ED to target opposition leaders, now wants to clarify that when the MLA is not named in the complaint, how is it appropriate to deliberately register an FIR against them?
Ashok said that the Congress government should give up the confusion that it can scare them by putting false cases on BJP MLAs. The BJP does not give protection to any criminal. If there are allegations, they should be investigated according to the law and proved in court. But if the government continued to do ‘Bade’ politics and target opposition MLAs, then we will be forced to start a loud movement against it, this is a warning.
Basavaraj was first close to the Chief Minister
Before joining the BJP, Basavaraj was once close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. His younger brother, Suresh is currently a close aide of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and is working as the Minister of Urban Development and City Planning. Shivprakash alias Biklu Shiva was murdered in front of his residence and a case of murder has been registered against Basavaraj in this case. The Bharatinagar police of Bengaluru registered an FIR against the MLA and made him the fifth accused.
