Election strategist Prashant Kishor has met the Congress leadership several times in the last few days and the discussions about his joining the party are in full swing. Meanwhile, the Congress inside seems to be busy preparing for Rajasthan as well. On the one hand, Sonia Gandhi is trying to bring Prashant Kishor to the Congress, while on the other hand she is considering bringing in new faces in the leadership. It can start from Rajasthan itself, where Sachin Pilot is continuously making a claim. Recently, when Sachin Pilot came to Delhi and met Sonia Gandhi, the speculations intensified.
Can there be contemplation about Rajasthan after the camp?
Meanwhile, discussions have even started that after the Chintan Shivir to be held in Udaipur from May 13 to 15, there may be a change of leadership in Rajasthan. These discussions have also got fuel from a statement of Ashok Gehlot, in which he said that my resignation has always been with Sonia Gandhi. Usually, Ashok Gehlot has been talking very carefully, but his comment has fueled speculations that whether the Congress is considering a change of leadership. However, the question is also arising whether Ashok Gehlot will easily accept the decision of the high command if Sachin Pilot’s resignation is sought under pressure?
Speculations have intensified due to the statement of Ashok Gehlot.
Ashok Gehlot had said, ‘My resignation has always been with Sonia Gandhi. When Congress wants to change CM, no one will get any indication. No one will be talked about this. The Congress high command is free to take decisions. It is interesting that PK had also said in his presentation to the Congress that it would have to inculcate youth leadership at the state and district level. He said that to do well in the 2024 general elections, the Congress has to prepare to perform well in the states where it is in direct fight with the Congress. Among these states are the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat etc.
After the setback in Punjab, Congress is cautious about Rajasthan
One of the concerns of the Congress regarding Rajasthan is that if there is a change in the leadership shortly before the elections, then there may not be a situation like Punjab. There Charanjit Singh Channi was made the CM just 114 days before the elections and the party had to face a crushing defeat due to factionalism. In such a situation, Congress feels that if any change has to be made in Rajasthan, then it should be done at least one to one and a half years in advance.
