Raipur . Chhattisgarh has become recognized as an innovation state in the country, it is preparing to take another step towards the efforts being made to improve the rural economy and for this the government is also warming itself up. Earlier, cow dung was linked with employment and now efforts are being made to make it the basis of economic prosperity through cow urine.
In the present situation, along with providing employment to the people, improving their economic condition remains a challenge for all the governments. All efforts are being made to meet this challenge, sometimes these efforts seem to be successful and sometimes they do not get the success as expected. A way is being searched for employment and economic prosperity without cost in Chhattisgarh. In the first step, dung gives auspicious signs and now preparations are being made to move forward in the same direction with the help of cow urine.
The state government had earlier turned it into a site of employment generation with Gauthan to curb the problem of stray cattle. Here, a large number of women belonging to self-help groups prepare many products of cow dung, diyas, pots, idols, cow sheds, Burmese compost, for which cow dung is bought at the rate of two rupees per kg.
On the one hand, where farmers are getting Burmese compost, cow urine is going to be used to reduce the dependence of the fields on chemical fertilizers. This is because bio-fertilizers and bio-insecticides are prepared from cow urine. Cow urine also contains many minerals and enzymes including urea. Using cow urine as a fertilizer increases the absorption of micronutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potash. There is good growth in plant height and root, beneficial bacteria grow in the soil and urea found in cow urine controls many pests and diseases.
The government claims that the number of cattle and buffalo cattle in the state is more than 111 lakhs. On an average, seven liters of cow urine is excreted per animal per day.
Pradeep Sharma, advisor to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, says that carbon and urea are necessary for agricultural land, carbon is supplied from dung-made Burmese compost, while the biggest source of urea is urine, for this fortification of urine. is important. At present 20 lakh quintals of organic fertilizers are being made, now we need one lakh liters of cow urine for fortification. The first phase has been completed as Burmese compost, the second phase will be completed through fortification of cow urine.
The way the process of buying cow dung started in the state, similarly preparations are being made to purchase cow urine in the coming time. The technical committee will study how to procure cow urine. This committee will give its recommendation regarding the collection of cow urine, quality testing of cow urine, products made from cow urine.
At present, the government has not decided on how cow urine will be purchased, how it will be collected, but it is certain that if cow urine is bought from cattle owners like cow dung, then on one hand it will be easy to preserve cow urine, stray cattle If the damage caused to crops can be saved, then new employment opportunities will also be developed.
