New Delhi. Many schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat have received bomb threats through email, which has created panic in the school administration. The threatening emails were received on Monday, spreading fear in schools including Delhi Public School (DPS) Bopal, Anand Niketan, Asia English School, Kalorex School in Vastrapur, Amrita Vidyalaya in Ghatlodiya, Kendriya Vidyalaya and New Noble School in Chandkheda.
Upon receiving the threat, the school administration immediately informed the police and district administration. Police teams, including bomb disposal squads and canine units, were deployed in all schools. However, the investigation has not yet yielded any concrete findings. The decision of holiday in schools brought relief, although the administration is cautious due to the upcoming elections. Police have begun efforts to trace the sender of the threatening email and Ahmedabad authorities may also seek assistance from Delhi Police.
This incident comes after a similar threat was issued to more than 100 schools in Delhi a few days ago. Delhi Police has also started investigating those threats. The email was traced to a Russian mailing service, prompting authorities to contact the company in question for further assistance. Despite the ongoing investigation, concrete details regarding the threats have not yet emerged.
