Controversy erupted after bulldozers arrived on Monday to remove encroachments in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area. People came out in large numbers on the streets and due to this the bulldozers had to be removed. Now on Tuesday once again bulldozers have reached Mangolpuri and New Friends Colony in Delhi to remove the encroachment. During this also a large number of police forces are deployed. Not only this, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mukesh Ahlawat, who came to protest the encroachment action, has been detained by the police.
Mukesh Ahlawat said, ‘When the people themselves had vacated the area, then why are bulldozers being used by the North MCD? We are against this action and it should be stopped. They should first prove that this is an encroachment. Delhi DCP Sameer Sharma said that the encroachment process is going on peacefully in New Friends Colony and the situation is completely under control. People are also cooperating with us in this action. Regarding the detention of MLA Ahlawat, he said, “The work to remove the encroachment is going on expeditiously.” AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat reached here and said that what is the need of using JCB. We have detained them to maintain order.
A huge crowd had gathered on the arrival of the bulldozers
Earlier on Monday, when the bulldozers reached Shaheen Bagh, a large crowd gathered. Not only this, a large number of police forces also went along with the employees of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, but had to be stopped due to the people’s protest. A few years back, Shaheen Bagh came into the limelight due to the anti-CAA movement. Shaheen Bagh once again came into the limelight across the country on Monday. A large number of people sat on the road in front of the bulldozers and started protesting. AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and a councilor also reached the spot.
MCD filed complaint against Amanatullah
A complaint has also been lodged against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on behalf of South Delhi Municipal Corporation. The MCD has accused Amanatullah Khan and his supporters of obstructing the action. On the arrival of the bulldozers in Shaheen Bagh, people also raised slogans against the police and the BJP. On this occasion, many women were also seen standing in front of the bulldozers.
