New Delhi. On the 34th death anniversary of MG Ramachandran, one of the veteran leaders who made a distinct identity in the politics of the South, all political parties remembered him. It was MGR’s stature that even his opponents respected him. MGR had made a special place not only in politics but also in the hearts of people. On his death anniversary, the opposition AIADMK and TTV Dinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) felicitated former Tamil Nadu chief minister and matinee idol M.G. Ramachandran (MG Ramchandran) paid tribute.
Both the leaders also paid floral tributes to the late Chief Minister at his residence. During this, both these politicians called upon the party workers to work unitedly for the party and against the anti-people policies of the DMK government led by Stalin.

Politics even on death anniversary
Even though opposition leaders had come to pay homage to MGR on his death anniversary, politics dominated him during this too. Former Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam in a statement hit out at the DMK government for the rising prices of essential commodities including vegetables and groceries. He called it a major failure of the Stalin government.
He said that farmers are not benefiting from the rising prices of vegetables, but middlemen are taking advantage of the increase in prices.
