300% increase in cyber attacks seen in the year 2020
New Delhi, July 6 (IANS)| With a view to help users stay away from cyber threats while working online, Airtel Xstream Fiber on Tuesday launched a highly relevant online service – ‘Secure Internet’, which can protect against malware (including viruses), high-risk websites and real- Blocks TypeApps. This online service is available for all Airtel Xstream Fiber customers with a monthly subscription of Rs.99.
The company said it can prevent these activities in real time by leveraging Airtel’s network security mechanism for all devices connected to Airtel Xstream Fiber via Wi-Fi. Shashwat Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Bharti Airtel said in a statement, “We, at Airtel, are obsessed with creating better and safer digital experiences through innovation for our customers. Work and children’s education have all gone online. “
Sharma said, “With the speed and reliability of broadband, security is now a critical requirement for customers. Secure is an easy to activate and highly effective solution to make internet secure for our customers.” ‘Secure Internet’ offers multiple security modes ranging from remote working to online classes for different needs of the customers. With its child safe and study modes, customers can block websites and applications with unwanted, adult/graphic content that are not suitable for children.
According to data compiled by CERT-In, India witnessed a 300 percent increase in cyber attacks during 2020. According to the sixth annual Norton Cyber Safety Insights report, about 59 percent of Indian adults have been victims of cybercrime in the past 12 months.
