Akhilesh Yadav has come out of the dilemma of quitting ‘MLA’ or ‘MP’. He has resigned from the membership of Lok Sabha. According to media reports, after discussions with senior party leaders, on Tuesday, the SP chief took the decision to resign from the membership of the Lok Sabha. Party leader Anurag Bhadauria said in a conversation with a private channel that Akhilesh Yadav felt that it was necessary for him to stay in the assembly to protect the rights of the people of UP, that is why he has taken this decision.
On Tuesday afternoon, Akhilesh Yadav met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and submitted his resignation to him. Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav was also present with him. Akhilesh Yadav was elected MP from Azamgarh seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Yesterday, Akhilesh spoke to the MLAs and party leaders of Azamgarh. Earlier, he had also gone to Karhal assembly constituency. The leaders there had requested Akhilesh not to leave the legislature. Then Akhilesh had said that the party would take a decision in this regard.
The Samajwadi Party is justifying this decision of Akhilesh and is saying that it will boost the morale of the party MLAs, leaders and workers of the North. The same BJP leaders say that although it is an internal matter of SP, but the truth is that Akhilesh Yadav has come to know that the same fate is going to happen in 2024 as well. He wants to contest elections from Karhal with great difficulty and does not want to contest the election of MP in 2024, so he decided to stay in the assembly for the next five years.
