New Delhi. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress and future action plan of the schemes being run in the Basic Education Department in a high-level meeting on Friday and gave necessary guidelines. In the last 06 years, under the guidance of respected Prime Minister, important steps have been taken in the direction of radical changes in the field of education in the state, which have yielded good results. In the last 06 years, more than 01 lakh 64 thousand teachers have been recruited in the schools of Basic Education Council and Secondary Education Council in the state. 11 thousand crore rupees alone have been spent on strengthening the infrastructure of council schools. The number of students is increasing in the schools of Basic Education Council. In the last 06 years, about 03 years were spent in facing the corona epidemic. During this, about 55 to 60 lakh new children were enrolled in the schools of the Basic Education Council. The number of students in Basic Education Council schools has increased from about 01 crore 34 lakh to more than 01 crore 91 lakh today. Along with increasing this number further, there is a need to control the drop out. For this communication with parents and technology should be used.
Availability of resources in primary and upper primary schools is necessary for the purpose of promoting digital learning. In this situation, tablets should be made available to 2.36 lakh teachers of primary and upper primary schools. This work should be completed by next September. Teachers should also be trained. The tablet should have preloaded awareness material about government programmes/schemes. The procurement process should be completely transparent. Expected success has been achieved in the efforts made in the first phase of Operation Kayakalp for infrastructure development in council schools. Now, along with infrastructure, we have to move towards educational quality, learning environment, technical efficiency, digital learning, vocational education. Classrooms should be conducted in schools with the concept of ‘eight grade learning’. For this, prepare for the beginning of the second phase of Operation Kayakalp.
There should be proper arrangements for cleanliness and toilets in every school. There should be no shortage of teachers anywhere. The teacher-student ratio should be as per the standard. The number of classes in schools should be increased. Abhyudaya Composite Schools should be initially taken as a pilot project. One school each in all the districts should be developed as a composite school. It should be ensured that council schools with dilapidated buildings should not be run at all. Education should be done only where the school building is organized. If there is a dilapidated building, get it demolished immediately, shift the children there to other nearby schools.
