According to a Global News report, a People’s Liberation Navy ship caught a high speed and was cut off right in front of Chung-hoon. Captain Paul Mountford, Commander of the Canadian HMCS Montreal, termed the move as ‘unprofessional’. He told, ‘After changing the course, the Chinese ship called the American ship and said move forward or there will be a collision. In response the Americans asked the Chinese to stay away from the ship but Chung-hoon was eventually forced to change course and slow down to avoid a crash.
China gave warning on radio system
Mountford believes the incident was a ‘clear provocation from China’. Chung-hoon and Montreal have been traveling together in the South China Sea for about a week before entering the Taiwan Strait. According to Mountford, China told both the Canadian and American ships over the radio system that they were entering Chinese territory, despite joint missions in internationally recognized waters.
When the aircraft of China and America face to face
In the past, the US RC-135 military plane of America had to face turbulence due to the maneuvering of the Chinese J-16 fighter jet. In a video shared on Twitter, a Chinese fighter plane can be seen from the window of an American plane. After a few seconds, the Chinese aircraft changes its direction and due to turbulence, the cockpit of the RC-135 starts shaking. China, which claims the South China Sea as its territory, has said that sending aircraft or ships from the US in this area is not good for peace.
