Chandigarh. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several projects including the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Chandigarh. The Home Minister said that the Integrated Command and Control Center would bring about a paradigm shift in all areas of civil administration in Chandigarh in the coming days. Under this project, more than two thousand CCTV cameras have been installed across the city.
There will be monitoring of many civil facilities from a single command center and there will also be a system to upgrade them.
From this command center, the system of sending challans at home for breaking traffic rules can also start soon. With this, the security of Chandigarh will be ensured and a police team can be sent there in case of any missing item.
The center is also connected with water, electricity, sewage, solid waste management, transportation, e-mail governance, parking and public bike sharing, so that all these services can be effectively monitored and data can be analyzed accurately.
The Home Minister, who accompanied Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, also laid the foundation stone of a hostel block of Commerce College.
The Union Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth crores of rupees, including construction of workshops and bus depots, 200 houses for police personnel.
