Annapurna Devi of BJP won the Koderma Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 376240 votes. At the same time, Annapurna Devi Yadav of Bharatiya Janata Party won the Koderma seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. She defeated Babulal Marandi of JVM by 4,55,600 votes. While Annapurna Devi got 7,53,016 votes, Babulal Marandi got 2,97,416 votes. At the same time, Raj Kumar Yadav of CPI (ML) came third by getting 68,207 votes. Kanchan Kumari of Trinamool Congress came fourth by getting 14,119 votes.

Annapurna’s political journey Annapurna Devi, who entered politics after her husband’s death, has traveled from being a housewife to MLA, minister, MP and Union Minister. She has represented both Koderma Assembly and Lok Sabha. She was a minister in the Bihar government. She was a minister in the Jharkhand government and also became a minister in the Narendra Modi government at the Center. Annapurna Devi Yadav contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Koderma seat in Jharkhand and won. Before 2019, she was in Lalu Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Party. After this she joined BJP. Annapurna Devi entered politics in 1998 after the death of her husband Ramesh Prasad Yadav, who was a minister in the unified Bihar. In 1998, she contested the assembly by-election for the first time. After this, she won the assembly elections in 2000, 2005 and 2009. Her husband Ramesh Prasad Yadav was the MLA of Koderma from 1990 to 98.
