Good news for high speed railway dreams. An elevated rail track will be built from Delhi Cantt Railway Station to Jaipur. High speed trains will run on this at a speed of 200 to 220 kilometers per hour. The scheme has been approved by the Ministry of Railways. Union Minister Rao Indrajit gave this information on Wednesday.
Delhi – Jaipur will be a few hours journey.
Railway Ministry has a plan to reduce the distance from Delhi to Jaipur. Rao Indrajit said that the Detail Project Report (DPR) of the elevated rail track project will be prepared now. It will be sent to Railway Ministry for approval. The work on the project is expected to start from next year after getting the permission. He said that the journey to Jaipur will be easier with the elevated track.
This route will be the second high speed corridor of India.
It currently takes about five to six hours for passengers to reach Jaipur from Delhi on the existing train route. After the construction of the elevated track, this distance will be covered in a maximum of three hours. The train will run on an elevated track at a height of about 15 to 18 meters from the ground. At present, the work of high speed track is being done from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
