Another shocking news has come out in the midst of the Russo-Ukraine war. Another Indian student has been shot in the city of Kyiv. Earlier, a student hailing from Karnataka had lost his life in the firing. Now the name of the youth injured in this latest accident has been told as Harjot Singh. The injured student is admitted in the hospital.
According to media reports, Harjot Singh is trapped in Ukraine. He was going from Kyiv to the city of Iviv in a car. At the same time, his car was attacked midway and he got shot. Fortunately the Ukrainian ambulance picked him up from the scene in time and got him admitted to a nearby hospital. The hospital is located about 20 minutes away from the Indian Embassy. Harjot has appealed to the Indian Embassy for help.
Let us inform that Indian students trapped in Ukraine are somehow reaching neighboring border countries. The Government of India has also taken the initiative to take Indian students home by special aircraft under Operation Ganga. Four Union Ministers of the Government of India Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijuju and General (Retd) VK Singh are stationed at the borders of four different countries adjoining Ukraine and are monitoring the drive to repatriate Indian students there.
Poland and India share centuries of friendship and cordial relations which have brought our people together.
I am happy to share with you that Polish universities will be opening their doors to our students from Ukraine so that they can finish their studies.
