The Local 18 team had a special conversation with Prof. S Das Gupta, Head of the Ophthalmology Department of Medical College Almora, about cataract. During this, he told that the number of cataract patients has increased a lot in the hilly areas. If we talk about the last 1 year, more than 250 patients have been treated here.
Medical College’s department head Prof. S Das Gupta said that the number of cataract patients is constantly increasing in Almora. He believes that people in rural areas consume steroid medicine or put it in their eyes without consulting a doctor. This reason promotes cataract.

Apart from this, if someone has white cataract and he does not get it treated, then it also takes the form of cataract. Prof. S Das Gupta says that if you want to prevent cataract, then you must get your eyes checked once a year. Do not take steroid medicine or apply it in your eyes without consulting a doctor. If possible, you can consult your nearest doctor.
