New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s troubles are increasing day by day. Kejriwal, who is already in ED’s judicial custody in Tihar Jail, has now been arrested by the CBI. Today, the CBI has sought permission from the lower court to take Arvind Kejriwal on remand and question him. The CBI had earlier questioned Kejriwal on Tuesday. However, the CBI has already taken such action in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy scam. The CBI has earlier arrested BRS leader K. Kavitha from ED custody.

The arrest of Kejriwal by the CBI before the hearing in the Supreme Court today in the case of his bail granted by the Rouse Avenue Court in the ED arrest case is a big setback for the Delhi CM. After the CBI arrest, Kejriwal has also withdrawn his petition filed in the Supreme Court against the stay on his bail. Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the court that he will file a new petition challenging the main order of the High Court.
Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court on June 20, despite this he could not come out of jail. Actually ED challenged the bail decision in the High Court, after which the High Court stayed the bail and reserved its decision. After this Arvind Kejriwal knocked the door of the Supreme Court. He did not get immediate relief from the Supreme Court as well and the bench ordered to wait for the decision of the High Court and gave the date of June 26 for the next hearing. Now the High Court has given its decision on Kejriwal’s bail and today the hearing in this case was to be held in the Supreme Court, but now after the arrest by the CBI, the petition was withdrawn.
