New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K. Today, Rouse Avenue Court gave a shock to Kavita and extended the judicial custody of both of them by 14 days. With this, now both of them will have to remain in judicial custody till May 7. Kejriwal and K. Kavita has been arrested by ED in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy scam. However, during the arrest of K. Kavita, CBI had sought permission from the court to interrogate her. After interrogation with the permission of the court, CBI arrested Kavita from ED custody.
Before this the court Arvind Kejriwal and K. Kavita has rejected the bail applications of both. ED has claimed in the court that Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to grant him bail. Whereas CBI claimed in the court that it was K. Kavita is one of the main conspirators in this case. CBI has alleged that Kavita is hiding the facts which are within her knowledge. CBI claimed in its plea that a businessman met AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. This businessman was asked to arrange Rs 100 crore. After this this businessman K. Met Kavita in Hyderabad.
CBI says that Kavita had played a big role in arranging this amount. CBI said that this money was collected through hawala for Goa elections. To confirm this, CBI has also filed a WhatsApp chat in the court. While rejecting Kavita’s bail plea, the court had said that Kavita cannot be called an unsafe woman who can be made a scapegoat. She is a highly educated woman with a better position in the society. Prima facie his efforts to destroy evidence in the liquor policy case indicate his active involvement in the case.
