Arvind Kejriwal had earlier approached Delhi High Court for relief. In the application filed in the High Court, Arvind Kejriwal had challenged his arrest and ED remand in the liquor scam. Arvind Kejriwal’s application was rejected by the Delhi High Court. The High Court had said that prima facie the ED appears to have evidence against Arvind Kejriwal. The High Court had also said that the court and the law have nothing to do with politics. In fact, there too Arvind Kejriwal had argued that the ED witnesses who have given statements against him have links with BJP. Now Arvind Kejriwal has given the same argument in the Supreme Court also.
At the same time, in the reply filed in the Supreme Court, ED has clearly said that Arvind Kejriwal has a direct connection with the liquor scam. ED has already said that Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam. ED has also said in its reply filed in the Supreme Court that if the accused is connected to politics and is a big name, then he cannot be treated specially. ED has also said in its reply that Arvind Kejriwal deliberately did not appear on its 9 summons. The investigating agency has also said that the kind of answers given by Arvind Kejriwal to the investigating officer make it clear that he has a hand in the liquor scam. Now everyone’s eyes are on whether Arvind Kejriwal gets relief from the Supreme Court or whether the country’s biggest court also keeps him in jail.
