New Delhi. On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the first issue of Assam Government newspaper Assam Barta. The special thing is that the newspaper will inform the people of the state about the policies of the government and their implementation. State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present along with Amit Shah, Sarbananda Sonowal on this occasion. The launch coincided with the first anniversary celebrations of the state government led by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Along with this, the newspaper will be published mainly in four languages, Assamese, English, Hindi and Bengali and will be widely distributed using various traditional and social media platforms. For information, let us tell you that Assam will be one of the first states in the country which has launched its own newspaper.

During this, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his speech said, “Assam Government has decided to start its own newsletter to connect directly with citizens and give an opportunity to people to know about the development journey of Assam.”
Citizens, intellectuals and independent journalists will get an opportunity to give constructive suggestions to the Government of Assam through newsletter. The Government of Assam is committed to ensure the widest reach of Assam Barata. In the first phase, the government aims to reach one crore readers through various modern technologies like WhatsApp, Telegram, E-mail, SMS and other social media platforms.
