New Delhi. A very big news is coming out from the northeastern state of Assam. 5 people from Meghalaya have died in the firing by the Forest Guards of Assam. This incident may create tension between Assam and Meghalaya. The incident took place in Mukroh village of West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya. Due to this tension has spread and internet has to be shut down in 7 districts. Sources say that the incident took place at 7:30 am on Tuesday when the villagers were returning from the forest after loading wood in small trucks. The area where the forest guards of Assam did this firing is also a part of Meghalaya. There has been a dispute between Meghalaya and Assam regarding this area for a long time.
A video related to this incident is going viral on social media. In which it is seen that there is a clash between the villagers and the forest guards. A video shows how the forest guards are firing with rifles. They tell the crowd to leave the spot and open fire. In the video, a villager says that these forest guards have taken out rifles and can fire. After a few seconds, there is firing from the side of the forest guards. After this there is a stampede and some people are also shot. In this incident, it has been said that the government will give compensation to the injured and the dead.
Many people have been injured in this incident that took place in Assam and so far the news of the death of 5 people has come to the fore. Now Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma has taken cognizance of this incident. He has called a high level meeting of officers. He has ordered suspension of internet services in 7 districts of Meghalaya for the time being. Apart from this, a relief amount of Rs 5 lakh has been announced by the Meghalaya government to the next of kin of those killed. Meghalaya Police has registered a case in this matter.
