IMD said in a statement that heat wave conditions are likely to occur in isolated parts of North Interior Karnataka during March 29, Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat on March 28. It also said that hot and humid weather is expected in Konkan and Goa on March 28 and in Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during March 28-31. The IMD had earlier predicted that India will experience more heat and more heatwave days this year, as El Nino conditions are likely to persist till at least May.
