In fact, it happened that an Australian model named Jessica Lee did not inform the customs officials about her Subway sandwich at the airport, after which when the sandwich was found from her, she was fined heavily by the customs officers according to the law. Lee himself has given information about this incident.
Lee shared this on his social media handle. According to Jessica Lee, she was traveling from Europe to Australia. When she arrived at the Singapore airport after a long 11-hour flight, she bought a Subway sandwich at her stopover. He ate half of it and kept half with himself. She thought that she would eat this remaining portion if she was hungry.
But further neither did he feel hungry nor did he eat it. When his flight reached Australia, according to the rules, he had to tell the customs that he had the sandwich, but he did not inform the authorities by mistake. As a result, a fine of $2,664 i.e. Rs 1.43 lakh was imposed on the model.
According to Australian law, they have to pay 1.43 lakhs within 28 days. According to the information received, Jessica Lee had recently left her job. After leaving the job, now she is getting worried about the amount of fine. According to the New York Post, Lee said – “I know it is my fault and I take responsibility for it.”
