New Delhi. Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former UP minister Azam Khan has suffered a heart attack. After this he has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. Doctors performed Azam’s angioplasty on Tuesday. A stent was inserted in his vein. According to his family, two days ago, suddenly Azam started sweating and had shortness of breath. He was immediately brought to the hospital. Where it was found that there was a heart attack. Let us inform that Azam Khan was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for a long time after his release from jail. Heart attack was suffered by Azam at his house in Rampur. Investigation revealed that there was a blockage in one of Azam’s vans. After this the doctors suggested angioplasty.
According to Azam Khan’s family, the angioplasty has been successful. Azam is fine now, but doctors have kept him in ICU. They may get leave in a day or two. His wife and former MP Tazeen Fatima, sons Abdullah Azam and Adeeb Azam are also present in the hospital to take care of Azam. Let us tell you that the Yogi government has imposed many cases against Azam Khan. In these cases, Azam Khan was imprisoned in Sitapur jail for 27 months. There he also had corona. After his release from prison, he also had an eye surgery.
Azam Khan is around 74 years old. He has also been a 10 time MLA from Rampur, once a Lok Sabha MP and once a Rajya Sabha MP. There are more than 90 cases against Azam in Rampur. He contested the UP assembly elections this year while in jail. Prior to that he was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019. His son Abdullah also won the election of MLA from Swar seat of Rampur.
