Babar Azam: Pakistan cricket team is currently in Ireland in view of the preparations for the T20 World Cup and an international series of T20 matches is being played there. However, this tour has not gone very well for the team so far. Pakistan had to face defeat against Ireland in the very first match. They leveled the series by winning the second match. There is still one more match left. Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has a chance to become the biggest player of T20 International. For this he needs a big innings.
Babar Azam’s figures in T20 International are like this
Babar Azam has so far scored 3880 runs in T20 International after playing 116 matches. He has scored three centuries and 35 half-centuries in this format. His average is 40.84, while he is batting at a strike rate of around 129. He is the third highest run scorer in this format. Ahead of him are Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, but the difference between them is very less.
To overtake Virat Kohli, we will have to score 158 runs.
If we talk about number one batsman Virat Kohli, he has scored 4037 runs in his name after playing 117 matches, whereas Rohit Sharma has so far scored 3974 runs after playing 151 T20 International matches. If seen this way, if Babar Azam scores 95 more runs then he can overtake Rohit Sharma. At the same time, 158 runs are needed to overtake Virat Kohli.
After Ireland, Pakistani team will play series against England
There is only one more match left in the Ireland and Pakistan series, which will be played on 14 May. However, the possibilities for Babar Azam will not end here. After this the Pakistani team is going to England, where another series will be played. In such a situation, Babar has plenty of opportunities, but it will be interesting to see whether Babar will be able to reach new heights by playing a big innings.
