Talking about the electric vehicle segment, electric scooters are in high demand. The reason is that they are convenient and cheaper than electric vehicles. Talking about the best selling electric scooters in the country, TVS Motors’ iQube and Bajaj Motors’ Chetak are two big names. But if we talk about sales, Chetak has slowed down in front of iQube. In November 2021 i.e. last month’s sales, iQube has overtaken Chetak.
How was the sale?
Talking about the sales of Chetak, in November 2020, 264 units of this electric scooter were sold. In comparison, 511 units were sold in November 2020, which was 247 units more than the same month last year. In such a situation, the company has seen a profit of 93.56% on year to year basis. But if we talk about the sales of iQube, then in November 2020, 99 units of this electric scooter were sold. In comparison, 699 units were sold in November 2020, which was 600 units more than the same month last year. In such a situation, the company has seen a bumper profit of 606% on year to year basis, which is much higher than Bajaj’s Chetak.
What was the Month to Month Margin?Talking about the month to month basis, in October 2021, 865 units of Bajaj’s electric scooter Chetak were sold. In comparison, 511 units were sold in November 2021, which was 324 units less than in October. In such a situation, the company has seen a loss of 38.80% on month to month basis. But if we talk about the sales of iQube, then in October 2021, 395 units of this electric scooter were sold. In comparison, 699 units were sold in November 2021, which was 304 units more than in October. In such a situation, the company has seen a profit of 76.96% on month to month basis. That is, here too iQube has overtaken Chetak.
Chetak slows down in front of iQube
If we talk about the sales of this year so far, then in 7 months out of 11 months till November, iQube has sold more month to month than Chetak. So far this year, iQube has sold 4,764 units. Chetak, on the other hand, has sold 4,343 units so far this year, which is 421 units less than iQube. Talking about the average for this year so far, the monthly sales average of iQube is 433 units. At the same time, Chetak lagged behind in this case as well, because the monthly sales average of Chetak is 395 units.
