Bajrang Punia suspended by NADA: The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has taken major action against Tokyo Olympics bronze medal winner Bajrang Punia. National Entry Doping Agency has temporarily suspended Bajrang Punia. Punia had not given dope sample during the National Trials held in Sonipat in March, due to which NADA has taken this action. At the same time, Bajrang Punia has also presented his side by sharing a video on social media.
NADA’s big action on Bajrang Punia
Let us tell you that on March 10, selection trials for the international tournament were held in Sonipat. Bajrang Punia lost in this trial. Punia had lost 1-9 to Rohit Kumar in the men’s freestyle 65kg semi-finals. Earlier, he had barely managed to register a win against Ravinder. After losing in the semi-finals, Punia immediately left the Sports Authority of India (SAI) center in anger. National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) officials tried to collect Poonia’s dope samples but they did not do so, due to which this action was taken.
Bajrang Punia posted this on social media
While sharing a video on social media, Bajrang Punia wrote that I want to clarify about the news coming about me for dope test, I never refused to give the sample to NADA officials, I requested them. That they should first answer me as to what steps they took or what action they took on the expired kit that they had brought to collect my sample and then take my dope test. My lawyer Vidush Singhania will reply to this letter in due course of time.
