Bangladesh’s upcoming tour of Pakistan is in danger. Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan may be cancelled due to the bad situation in the country. The Bangladesh team has to play 2 test matches on the Pakistan tour which is to start from 21 August but after former PM Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country, a situation of chaos has arisen in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has to play the first test match against Pakistan in Rawalpindi from 21 August and the second test match from 30 August but after the crisis situation in the country, the Bangladesh team’s tour of Pakistan has come under threat.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is aware of the situation in Bangladesh and has therefore offered the Bangladesh team to come to Rawalpindi early so that the series can be played on a regular schedule. A PCB source told PTI, “The PCB has offered to host Bangladesh for more days and provide all the training facilities but there has been no response from them so far.

Bangladesh-A team’s tour is also in danger

Apart from the senior team, the Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s tour to Pakistan is also in trouble. Former Test captain Mominul Haque was to play for Bangladesh ‘A’ in the series against Pakistan Shaheen (A). A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source aware of the developments said that the PCB has also proposed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to bring their Test team to Rawalpindi as soon as possible so that the series can be held.

A PCB source said that the board is in touch with the Bangladesh Cricket Board regarding the organisation of the Test series but it is very difficult to maintain contact in such a difficult environment. He said, “Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hossain is also preparing to leave the country, which seems to indicate that the board is also unable to function normally.”
