A Hindu youth’s house was set ablaze by extremists and a temple was also set ablaze in Narail district after he remarked against Islam in a Facebook post. After this, the extremists ransacked many houses. After setting the house on fire, the extremists also pelted stones. On the spot, the police had to open fire in the air to disperse the crowd. Tension prevailed in the area after this incident. The incident is said to have happened on Friday evening.
Inspector Haran Chandra Paul of the local police station said that on Friday evening, several houses were vandalized in Digholia village and one of them was set on fire. The police opened fire in the air to disperse the crowd. The police officer said that a youth posted something on Facebook, which caused anger among Muslims, who later carried out the attack. Police have taken youth Akash Saha and his father Ashok Saha into custody.

No arrest of the perpetrators of violence: Prabir Kumar Roy, Superintendent of Police, Narel said that efforts are being made to bring the situation under control.
