Rohit Sharma: The first phase of the T20 World Cup is over and the second phase will begin after a day’s break. The first match between the eight teams out of 20 teams that have managed to reach the Super 8 will be played in South Africa and USA. However, Team India will play its first match against Afghanistan on June 20. The first match of the Indian team’s Super 8 will be played in Barbados. The Indian team has reached there and preparations are also on. Meanwhile, a video of Team India captain Rohit Sharma has surfaced, in which he is talking about the team’s journey so far and future plans.
Rohit Sharma said, the schedule ahead will be a bit busy
Rohit Sharma believes that the Super 8 phase is going to be a bit busy, but the Indian players are ready for it. In a video uploaded by the BCCI, Rohit said that after playing the first match, we will play the next two matches in a gap of three or four days. It is going to be a bit busy, but we are used to all these things. We travel a lot and play a lot, so it is never going to be an excuse. Rohit said that there is a lot of enthusiasm in the team to do something special. This is a good way to start the second phase. He said that there is something to achieve in every session.
The Indian team has not lost a single match
You must remember that when the initial matches of the T20 World Cup were being played in America, India played its first three matches in New York, where the pitch was not very good. All the batsmen were seen struggling, this was the reason why high scoring matches could not be held there. Drop-in pitches were used here, which were prepared at another place. Even after this, the Indian team defeated Ireland, Pakistan and America in the league stage, while their last group match against Canada was canceled due to wet outfield in Florida.
Rohit and Kohli practiced hard
Meanwhile, the Indian team took part in a long practice session on Monday, in which senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma spent a lot of time. Virat Kohli has not yet been able to play a single big innings in the role of opening batsman, so he is focusing on how he should bat in the future. India will start its Super Eight campaign against Afghanistan on June 20. The team will then play against Bangladesh on June 22 in Antigua and finally Australia on June 24 in St. Lucia.
