New Delhi. Assembly elections are to be held in five states of the country, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur next year. Due to this, the Election Commission has also started preparations. Today the commission has given some instructions to the governments of these states regarding elections. The commission says that officers posted in the same district for three years during the last four years should be transferred along with the officers posted in their home districts before the elections.

The Election Commission says that it is very important to take this step for fair elections. Along with this, the commission has also written letters to the Chief Secretaries and Chief Electoral Officers of the electoral states. In which information has been given about the tenure of the current government in the states.
In these letters written by the Commission, it has been mentioned that the term of the Legislative Assemblies of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur is ending in March 2022, while the term of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly will end on May 14. Elections in all these states are to be held in early 2022.

It is worth noting that these instructions are usually issued by the Election Commission before the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. Its purpose is to conduct the elections in a fair manner.
