Brussels. US President Joe Biden has said that he is in favor of Russia’s exit from the Group of 20 (G20). Biden told a news conference at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters in Brussels on Thursday that if Russia is not ousted, at least Ukraine should be invited to the G20 grouping as an observer.
The US President is in Brussels to attend three summits addressing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including the NATO Extraordinary Summit, the Group of 7 summits and the European Council meeting, Xinhua news agency reported.
Russia has yet to comment on Biden’s statement.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement Thursday that NATO members have finally demonstrated their loyalty to Washington by obeying its orders aimed at controlling Russia.
He said Washington once again disciplined its allies by pressuring sovereign states and eroding Europe’s strategic autonomy.
