Ranchi. The political atmosphere of the state has become interesting due to the rebellion of former CM Champai Soren against Hemant Soren in Jharkhand. CM Hemant Soren had won the trust vote in the Rajya Sabha on 8 July 2024. At that time he got 45 votes. Now Champai Soren is not with him. In such a situation, one vote has been reduced from the 45 votes received by Hemant Soren. If BJP now succeeds in getting 4 more MLAs on its side, then there will be a crisis of Hemant Soren’s government falling. He will not have the majority then.

There are 81 seats in Jharkhand Assembly. The majority figure is 41 seats. After Champai Soren’s rebellion, only 44 MLAs are left in favor of Hemant Soren. Talking about the year 2019, Hemant Soren’s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats. At the same time, BJP won 25 seats, Congress 16, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) 3, AJSU 2, CPM 1 seat, RJD 1, NCP 1 and 2 independents. JMM formed the government by forming an alliance with RJD, CPM and Congress.
Assembly elections are to be held in Jharkhand by the end of this year. Hemant Soren has been shocked by Champai Soren leaving, but his JMM leaders are saying that Hemant Soren trusted Champai Soren and made him the CM of Jharkhand. JMM leaders are now accusing Champai Soren of stabbing him in the back. At the same time, Champai Soren has raised the issue of his insult in JMM. If some more JMM MLAs go with Champai Soren, then Hemant Soren’s government may be in trouble. Then to gather 41 numbers for majority, Hemant Soren will have to sabotage the BJP itself.
