Tejashwi is taking RJD forward on his own
In the year 2020, Tejashwi came to the limelight from the time of Bihar assembly elections. However, he had entered politics only in 2015, when the Grand Alliance government was formed for the first time. Without taking the help of Lalu, he contested the election in Bihar by forming a grand alliance and achieved a lot of success. Since he was performing such a big responsibility for the first time in politics, it was natural to make mistakes. He expanded the Grand Alliance and made the Left parties a partner in it. His experiment clicked. Tejashwi had given 29 seats to the Left parties, out of which 16 were successful. The RJD itself emerged as the single largest party in the assembly by bagging 75 seats. Tejashwi had missed a place. The Congress, which won 27 seats in the last assembly elections, could win only 19 seats in 2020, while it got 70 seats in the grand alliance quota to contest the elections. Tejashwi must still be feeling sorry about this. This was the first election under the leadership of Tejashwi, in which he did not even put the pictures of Lalu and Rabri Devi in his hoarding-banner. Despite this, his success was remarkable. Tejashwi was just a little behind from the majority figure. Analysts believe that if Tejashwi had not given so many seats to the Congress, he might have been able to form the government.
Congress is also seeing possibilities in Kanhaiya
Kanhaiya Kumar, who went from CPI to Congress, had gone missing since 2019. Once again the possibilities of his coming to light have started appearing. Kanhaiya is originally from Begusarai in Bihar. He has studied from JNU. He has also been the President of JNU Students Union. Kanhaiya is known as a good orator, who attracts the audience towards him. His speech is so powerful that even a person of other political ideology gets mesmerized once after listening to his reasoned speech. Kanhaiya can play a role in taking Bihar forward with new thinking. Congress is trying to do the same. The organizational changes that the Congress has made in Bihar are in favor of Kanhaiya Kumar. It is also possible that Kanhaiya is the brain behind this. Congress is going back to its traditional vote bank in Bihar. That is, the Congress has planned to give preference to the upper castes once again. Akhilesh Singh, the president of the Bihar state unit of the Congress, is a Savarna (Bhumihar), while the majority (67%) of the district units are from the upper castes. Kanhaiya Kumar is also a Savarna (Bhumihar).
Chirag Paswan is also falling heavy on his uncle
During the Lok Sabha elections held in the year 2019 itself, Chirag Paswan was fielded by his father Ram Vilas Paswan in politics. All the decisions of the party were taken by Chirag. Some people liked the father’s name and some Chirag’s youthful understanding. After his father’s death, uncle Pashupati Paras cheated and Chirag was left alone. Despite this, he did not lose courage. Chirag made Nitish Kumar realize his power in the 2020 assembly elections. He pitted his candidates against JDU candidates. As a result, JDU lost about three dozen seats because of Chirag. However, none of Chirag’s candidates won the assembly elections. Nitish Kumar called it a trick of BJP and this was also the reason for Nitish Kumar’s separation from NDA. Nitish’s party JDU became the third party in the assembly with 43 seats. Chirag Paswan on his own is leading the LJP (Ram Vilas), a faction of the now divided LJP.
PK is preparing the ground for alternative politics
Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor alias PK is busy preparing the ground for alternative politics in Bihar. PK has also been the National Vice President of JDU. As a strategist, he worked for Mamta Banerjee and Nitish Kumar. Gave electoral success to both. There was talk of his going with the Congress, which could not happen. PK finally started working on alternative politics from Gandhi Jayanti (2 October) last year. In his view, Bihar has become a victim of backwardness during the three decades of RJD-JDU rule. PK also raises questions on the work of BJP. They are roaming from village to village to tell the solution of how Bihar can move forward. PK got success in the very first year, when Jan Suraj’s supported candidate won the MLC election from Saran teachers constituency. After completing the trip to Bihar, he is also going to form a political party.
