BJP’s big victory in Tripura Panchayat elections.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura has once again repeated its spectacular performance. The BJP has won 97 percent of the seats in the three-tier panchayat elections held in the state. An official said on Wednesday that the BJP has won 71 percent of the seats in gram panchayats, panchayat committees and district councils unopposed. Voting for the remaining 29 percent seats was held on August 8. Home Minister Amit Shah has also congratulated the Tripura BJP.
What was the result of the election?
BJP has won 584 out of 606 Gram Panchayats, 34 out of 35 Panchayat Samitis and eight Zila Parishads. In the election held for 96 seats of eight Zila Parishads, BJP won 93 seats, while Congress and CPI (M) won two and one seat respectively. At the same time, BJP won 1,476 seats in the election of 1,819 Gram Panchayat seats. CPI (M), Congress and Tipra Motha got 148, 151 and 24 seats respectively. Opposition parties have alleged that due to the alleged strategy of spreading fear, they did not field candidates on 71 percent of the seats.
People have faith in PM Modi- CM
Tripura CM Manik Saha has said on the party’s victory that this mandate shows that people still have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his development programs. BJP has won 97 percent seats with a huge margin. In future, efforts should be made to win 100 percent seats in Panchayat elections.
Amit Shah also congratulated
At the same time, Home Minister Amit Shah has also congratulated Tripura BJP on this victory. He said that I am heartily thankful to the people of Tripura for giving BJP a historic victory in the local body elections. This victory is theirs. I congratulate Chief Minister Manik Saha, State BJP President Rajiv Bhattacharya and our workers for their tireless efforts to take the development-oriented initiatives of the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the common people.
