New Delhi. Under the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting was completed on 93 seats in 11 states and union territories of the country on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission data, around 62.25 percent voting has been recorded on all the seats. However, the final voting figures will be released only after scrutiny of Form 17A.
BJP national president JP Nadda, who is contesting the elections with the aim of forming the government for the third consecutive time at the Centre, held a meeting with the national general secretaries of the party on Tuesday and estimated the voting percentage and voting pattern as well as the election results of the remaining four phases of Lok Sabha elections. Had important discussions regarding strategy, agenda, issues and preparations.
In the meeting chaired by JP Nadda at the BJP national headquarters, the party’s national organization general secretary BL Santosh, national joint organization general secretary Shiv Prakash, national general secretaries Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde, Arun Singh and Dushyant Gautam, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, national media chief Anil Baluni and National Head of IT Cell Amit Malviya were also present.
Nearly 62 percent voting in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections
In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections in the country, about 62 percent voting took place in 93 constituencies of 11 states and union territories on Tuesday. Sporadic violence has been reported in some parts of West Bengal. According to the Election Commission data till 9 pm, the highest turnout was in Assam at 75.53 percent, Goa at 74.47 percent and West Bengal at 73.93 percent, while Maharashtra had the lowest turnout at 54.54 percent. At the same time, 56.55 percent voting took place in Bihar and 56.98 percent voting took place in Gujarat.
There were 17.24 crore voters in the third phase.
According to the Election Commission, 57.34 percent voting took place in Uttar Pradesh, 67.64 percent in Chhattisgarh, 65.23 percent in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, 68.85 percent in Karnataka and 64.02 percent in Madhya Pradesh. At least 17.24 crore people, including 8.39 crore women, were eligible to vote in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections and 1.85 lakh polling stations manned by 18.5 lakh officials were set up. The total voting percentage in the first and second phases was recorded at 66.14 percent and 66.71 percent respectively.
