New Delhi. About 125 schools in Delhi-NCR had received bomb threats through e-mail on Wednesday. Delhi Police has registered an FIR regarding this. It is written in this FIR that Delhi Police had received a massive bomb threat call on number 112. It is reported that today, i.e. 01/05/2024, from 5:47 AM to 14:13 AM, 125 bomb threat emails were received by various schools. The school administration said that they had received these bomb threats on their email ID. On receiving this call, PCR vehicles were sent to the schools.
The FIR states that District Police, BDS, MAC, Special Cell and Crime Control Room, DOMA, NORF, Fire, CATS etc. were also alerted. This caused massive inconvenience and an extensive exercise was conducted to safely evacuate schools and conduct anti-sabotage checks across the city. It appears that the emails used to send the threats were made with a conspiratorial intention to create mass panic and harass the public. Delhi Police has registered the FIR under sections 505/21/507/120B of IPC.
