New Delhi: You must have seen or heard many ways to commit a robbery or theft. But there is such a gang, whose boss comes by plane and his companions by train and goes on a rampage by committing robberies in houses in posh areas. The surprising thing is that the fear of this gang is all over India. From UP to Maharashtra, this gang has committed centuries of crimes. However, now its leader has been caught by the police. The leader of the robbers, who was involved in more than 130 criminal cases of robbery along with his associates in Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested.

Apart from the kingpin Rafiq Sheikh, the names of the two criminals who have been arrested are Shabed Ali Khan and Sheikh Maydul. Many cases are registered against them also. On top of that, the sensational case of firing on SHO-Kotla Mubarakpur and his team near ISBT Kashmiri Gate on 30 June 2021 is also included. Police further said that both Sabid Ali Khan and Sheikh Maydul were wanted in Karnataka. The team had received input that a gang leader was present in Delhi, only then he was arrested.
How did they commit the crime?
According to the Special Cell team, Rafiq Shaikh alias Roka is the leader of this gang of thieves. This gang used to do recce of locked houses in posh areas across India and after this the gang members used to target the recceed houses with their house breaking tools. They used to enter houses by breaking locks and steal cash and jewelery from there. While committing the crime, one or two members kept an eye on the nearby houses. They used to target big houses in posh areas so that they could get good amount of cash and jewelery from there. After committing theft in 4 or 5 houses continuously, Rafiq Sheikh alias Roka used to leave his gang associates in Delhi and go to Kolkata. To change cities, Rafiq Shaikh mostly traveled by plane and the rest of the gang members used to travel by train or bus.
How did the arrest happen?
Police say that gang leader Rafiq Shaikh alias Roka considers Wasim Akram alias Lambu as his godfather. He used to follow his godfather and guru Wasim Akram, due to which he started committing crimes. Accused Rafiq Shaikh distributed some part of the looted money among his supporters in CD Block Jhuggi Cluster area, Jahangirpuri, New Delhi. This is the reason why he has many supporters in that area. The people here used to inform him about the activities of the police. But somehow the police got the news that Rafiq was staying in a hotel in Jama Masjid, Delhi, after which a trap was laid and he was arrested from there.
