Sitaram Yechury told the budget of the rich
CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury described the budget as the budget of the rich. He tweeted, ‘Who is the budget for? The richest 10 percent of Indians own 75 percent of the total wealth of the country. The bottom 60 per cent of the people own only five per cent of the property. Why weren’t the highest profit earners taxed more during the pandemic?’
Along with this, BSP chief Mayawati said on the budget that the Union Budget presented in the Parliament has been brought to woo the public with new promises, while the implementation of the promises of previous years and old announcements etc. has been forgotten. How appropriate is this. Why is the Center free from serious concerns like rising poverty, unemployment, inflation and farmer suicides?
