Just a day after the arrest of BJP leader Tajinder Bagga by the Punjab Police, the CBI on Saturday raided three locations of Punjab AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra in Sangrur in connection with the over Rs 40 crore bank fraud case. Sources claimed that during searches conducted after an FIR was registered in Bank of India in an alleged loan fraud of Rs 40.92 crore, the CBI recovered 94 blank checks bearing signatures of various persons along with attached Aadhar cards. On the other hand, Majra alleged that the central government was using government agencies with a sense of vengeance.
Giving information about raids on Saturday at the premises of AAP MLA from Punjab Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra, CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said, “Rs 16.57 lakh (approx), about 88 foreign currency notes, some property documents, several bank accounts and other incriminating documents. were recovered during the search.
Officials said that the CBI has registered a case against Singh, Tara Corporation Limited (renamed as Maloudh Agro Limited) located at Gaunspura, Tehsil Malerkotla (Punjab) on complaint form Bank of India, Ludhiana.
Majra said – I did nothing wrong
Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Amargarh constituency, Jaswant Singh Gajan Majra, reacting to the searches by the Central Bureau of Investigation at their respective places, said that they have not done anything wrong. He also accused the BJP government at the Center of misusing central agencies to target its political opponents.
He said, “The BJP government at the Center is misusing the central agencies to defame its political opponents. Since our party got majority in the recent Punjab assembly elections, the BJP government has started misusing its agencies to target us without any valid reason. ,
It is worth mentioning that BJP leader Tajinder Bagga was arrested by Punjab Police from his residence in Delhi on Friday morning but with the help of Haryana Police, Delhi Police brought Bagga back from the middle. On the other hand, on Saturday, the Mohali court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Bagga. It is believed that the Punjab Police may soon rush to Delhi to arrest Bagga again.
