The Indian Air Force has made an official announcement of the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat in the incident of Army helicopter crash in Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat in the helicopter, their defense staff, including Brigadier S.K. Ale. Lidder, Lieutenant General, who was on his way to attend an event in Wellington. During which this accident happened in the dense forest of Coonoor.
Rescue work was started immediately after the army helicopter crashed. A flame of fire was coming out loudly from the helicopter. On getting information about the incident, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the situation and informed the Prime Minister about it.
On the tragic accident, the Defense Minister tweeted and wrote, ‘Deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other Armed Forces personnel in a very unfortunate helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu today. His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to our armed forces and the nation.
The accident happened near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday afternoon, when CDS Rawat was flying with his family. Apart from the Defense Minister, other leaders of the country have also expressed their grief through Twitter.
