Baghel government is reneging on its promise
He said, after the formation of Chhattisgarh, the land of 27 villages was taken by the previous government to develop the Nava Raipur area, the farmers wanted that they should be given four times the compensation. At the same time, apart from giving 1200 square feet of land to every family, arrangements should also be made to provide employment to one unemployed person from each family. But it has been almost three years since the Congress government came to power in the state but they have not yet fulfilled our demands.

Farmers leaders of Chhattisgarh met Tikait
During the meeting, Rakesh Tikait has said that if the government accepts these demands, it is fine, but if it does not, the movement will be carried forward with the farmers of the capital. - Notification of declared urban area for the affected 27 villages should be canceled.
- Settlement lease should be given to all the villagers.
- 1200 square feet of developed plot should be distributed to every adult person of the affected area.
- Fee allocation should be in proportion to the land acquired under mutual consent land acquisition.
- The annual amount should be paid immediately on the acquired land.
- The decisions of the 12th meeting of the empowered committee should be fully followed.
- There should be a provision of four times compensation to the land owners.
Government agrees on some demands, farmers adamant on all demands
After 51 days of agitation and three rounds of discussion, the state government has agreed to accept some of the demands. Two days ago, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey had said that the government was ready to accept six out of eight demands. Farmer organizations called his statement a hoax. He said that the things that the minister is referring to include only one or two points in his demand letter. The government is not saying anything on the main demands. The agitation will continue till their demands are met.
