Bhopal (New World Representative). Municipal officials have geared up for Swachh Survekshan-2022. Along with the cleanliness of the streets and squares of the capital, the work of dyeing and painting is going on. Although citizen feedback is also necessary to become number one in cleanliness this time, people are not showing interest in it. This will affect the cleanliness ranking. While the team of the corporation is making people aware and motivating them to vote for their city. 600 numbers will be added to its clean survey. At the same time, the residents of Indore have an important contribution in making Indore number one in cleanliness. This is the reason why Indore remains the number one in cleanliness every time. Let us know how is the preparation of Bhopal and Indore regarding the various components of the cleanliness survey.
sewage treatment
Bhopal: We are far behind in recycling and using sewage water. Many small and big drains are also coming mainly in Kaliasot and Kolans river and Bada and Chota Talab. More than ten sewage treatment plants were constructed in the capital in the last years. Despite this, sewage water could not be stopped from getting into the water sources of the city.
Indore: Three hundred MLD (million liters of daily) sewage is generated every day. Out of this, the Municipal Corporation is treating 110 MLD of sewage water and using it in gardens, farms and construction works. Indore is earning two crore rupees every year from the sludge (waste) generated after the treatment of sewage. As a result, the recycled sewage water now flows in the Kanh-Saraswati river.
waste compost
Bhopal: A city with a population of about 23 lakhs generates 850 tonnes of wet and dry waste every day. Right now food and other items are being made from 100 tonnes of waste.
Indore: In a city with a population of about 35 lakhs, 1200 tonnes of wet and dry waste is generated daily. The Municipal Corporation is earning twenty crore rupees every year by producing gas from this waste.
garbage collection
Bhopal: About six thousand sanitation workers are doing door-to-door garbage collection in the city every day with eight hundred vehicles. Due to lack of continuous monitoring, garbage is not being picked up from the slum areas on a daily basis. The focus is only on the major markets of the city even on cleaning three times a day.
Indore: Eight thousand employees of Indore Municipal Corporation gather from four o’clock in the morning to make the city shine. Along with this, wet and dry waste is being collected separately from every house of the city by more than one thousand vehicles.
Citizen Feedback
Bhopal: Bhopal Municipal Corporation is proving to be a complete failure in connecting the residents of the capital with cleanliness. Although this time the citizen feedback was good as compared to last time, but despite this common people have not been able to join till now.
Indore: The common city is fully aware of cleanliness. Citizens are ready to give feedback regarding cleanliness. If someone is seen doing dirt, then interrupting him and getting him cleaned.
There is more challenge in old Bhopal regarding cleanliness. This will connect more and more people. Programs will be run for this. Public participation in cleanliness is very important. The corporation staff is also ready for other challenges. Every effort is being made to make Bhopal number one.
