In view of the success of Balini Milk Producer Company run by the women of Self Help Group in Bundelkhand and the positive attitude of women farmers towards Kashi Milk Producer Company, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started Mahila Saksham Yojana to increase the production of milk in the state. . An amount of Rs 200 crore has been allocated for this. Due to this, while on one hand the women of the state will be self-reliant, on the other hand the economic condition of the state will also be strengthened. Under this scheme, the target is to set up five milk producer companies in Rae Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Prayagraj and Lucknow. A target has been set to collect about 1.5 million liters of milk daily in the next five years, including these seven companies, Balini and Kashi Milk Producer Company. For technical assistance in this work, the Rural Livelihood Mission of the state has tied up with NDDB Dairy Services, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board.

Milk collection will start in Rae Bareli and Gorakhpur from February

State Rural Livelihood Mission Director Bhanuchandra Goswami informed that Milk Producer Company has been established in Rae Bareli and Gorakhpur in the state. Whereas in Bareilly, the preliminary process for registration has been started. He said that preparations have been started for the operations of Sakshata Milk Producer Company established in Rae Bareli and Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Milk Producer Company established in Gorakhpur in February. With the start of these two companies, 7 districts around Rae Bareli (Rae Bareilly, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Fatehpur, Kanpur Nagar and Pratapgarh) and 4 districts around Gorakhpur (Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Deoria and Kushinagar) will be covered. More than 1 lakh women farmers will be linked with organized milk business.

Women empowerment scheme will play an important role in making the state one trillion economy

The Director informed that more than 40 thousand women farmers of the surrounding 6 districts (Bareilly, Rampur, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur) of Milk Producer Company to be established in Bareilly would be benefitted. He also informed that DPR has been requested from NDDB Dairy Services to connect Prayagraj and adjoining districts of Lucknow with this scheme and approval will be received by December. These 5 new companies as well as the 2 companies incorporated in the past together will collect about 15 lakh liters of milk daily in the next five years. With this, while the rural women of the state will be empowered, self-supporting and self-reliant, it will increase the income of the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s women empowerment scheme will also play an important role in making the state a one trillion economy.
