State-owned CIL on Thursday said it has floated its first tender for import of 2.416 million tonnes of coal to ensure adequate supply of fuel to power plants in the country.
It is worth noting that in the month of April, all efforts are being made by the government to stockpile coal to avoid the recurrence of power cuts due to shortage of fuel. In view of this, this step is important. A statement issued by the company in this regard said that for the first time, CIL has floated international competitive bidding e-tender, inviting bids for import of 2.41.6 million tonnes of coal. This is for the July-September period of the current financial year.
