United Nations: The death of a former Indian Army officer during the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza has also moved the United Nations. The United Nations has expressed condolences and apologized to India on this.
Let us tell you that Colonel Vaibhav Anil Kale (46) took premature retirement from the Indian Army in 2022 and was appointed Security Coordination Officer in the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) two months ago. On Monday morning, he was traveling in a UN vehicle with other UNDSS staff to the ‘European Hospital’ in Rafah when he was hit by an attack in which he died and another Jordanian DSS staff was injured.

It is believed that the vehicle was attacked by an Israeli tank. “We express our regret and condolences to the government and people of India,” Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said in the daily press conference on Tuesday in response to a question from PTI. “We appreciate the contribution that India has made,” he said.
