Congress has released the list of its four candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has made Raj Babbar its candidate from Gurgaon seat in Haryana. Anand Sharma has been fielded from Kangra seat of Himachal Pradesh, Satpal Raizada has been made the candidate from Hamirpur seat of Himachal Pradesh and Bhushan Patil has been declared candidate from Mumbai North seat of Maharashtra.Raj Babbar and Bhushan Patil. So, they have been contesting the Lok Sabha elections but Congress leaders Anand Sharma and Satpal Raizada, both of them will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. Anand Sharma has been making his way to Parliament from the Rajya Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh and has also been the Commerce Minister in the UPA government.
Challenge is tough for Anand Sharma and Satpal
Anand Sharma will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the first time against BJP candidate Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj. Both Rajiv Bhardwaj and Anand Sharma belong to the Brahmin community. Another special thing is that Anand Sharma is also considered very close to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
On the other hand, Congress has also fielded a Rajput face in the election battle against Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Satpal Raizada, who became MLA from Una Sadar Assembly constituency in the year 2017, has been made its candidate by Congress from Hamirpur. In the year 2022, Satpal Raizada lost the election to BJP’s Satpal Singh Satti. Satpal Singh Raizada is also among the leaders close to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Anurag Thakur has won the elections from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency four times in a row, this seat is a big challenge for Congress and also for Raizada.
