Congress MLA Surendra Pawar Arrested: Haryana Congress MLA Surendra Pawar arrested by ED, action taken in this case

New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Congress MLA Surendra Panwar from Sonipat, Haryana. ED has taken this action against Surendra Panwar in the case of illegal mining. ED has arrested Panwar from his office in Ambala. Now the Congress MLA will be produced in the special court of Ambala from where ED will seek his remand. ED had received complaints of illegal mining taking place in Yamunanagar, Karnal and other areas of Haryana.

It was said in the complaint that even after the mining lease ended, illegal mining of gravel and sand in large quantities is continuing. After which ED raided the premises of Surendra Panwar, former INLD MLA Dilbagh Singh and his associates in January this year. Surendra Panwar and Dilbagh Singh have been doing mining work in partnership for a long time. In the raid conducted at about 20 places in January, ED did not find anything special from Surendra Panwar’s house, but Rs 5.29 crore in cash, gold worth Rs 1.89 crore, illegal foreign weapons, 300 cartridges and more than 100 liquor bottles were found from former INLD MLA Dilbagh Singh. After this, ED arrested former INLD MLA Dilbagh Singh and his associate Kulwinder Singh.

Since then, ED was continuously investigating this matter. Taking this action forward, Congress MLA Surendra Panwar was also arrested today. Let us tell you that Surendra Panwar became MLA by winning the assembly elections from Sonipat on a Congress ticket in the year 2019. On the basis of the affidavit given to the Election Commission, Surendra Panwar had declared his assets worth Rs 27 crore. In this way, Congress MLA Surendra Panwar is among the richest MLAs of Haryana.
