Dehradun. Congress has released a list of 30 star campaigners for the Champawat by-election. Six national leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among the star campaigners. In this list, there is not a single MLA from Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri and Almora district. On the other hand, Congress candidate Nirmala Gahatodi will file her nomination on May 11. State Organization General Secretary Vijay Saraswat informed that the list of star campaigners of Congress has also been submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer. In this, along with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Wada, National General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik and Randeep Singh Surjewal and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot. Apart from this, state in-charge Devendra Yadav, co-in-charge Rajesh Dhamarani, state president Karan Mahra, leader of opposition Yashpal Arya, former chief minister Harish Rawat are also part of this list.
In this list of star campaigners, Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri, not a single MLA from Almora district and MLA Khushal Singh Adhikari from Lohaghat seat of Champawat district did not find a place. Kapri has defeated Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Khatima seat of Udhamsinghnagar district. It was told that the programs of national leaders would be decided soon for the election campaign.
On the other hand, State in-charge Devendra Yadav, State President Karan Mahra, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and all party MLAs and state office-bearers will be present on the occasion of filing nomination of Congress candidate Nirmala Gahatodi in Champawat by-election on May 11.
