Dehradun. Uttarakhand Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal has accepted the responsibility of the party’s defeat in the assembly elections. He has said that the defeat will be reviewed after Holi. It is worth mentioning that in the results which came on March 10 last, Congress got 19 seats in the state. While Ganesh Godiyal himself lost the election from Srinagar seat of Pauri in a close contest. On Saturday, he interacted with reporters at the State Congress office in Dehradun. In which he said that if the high command asks, then he is ready to leave the post with pleasure. On the other hand, despite the full hope of returning to power and the confidence of being among the people, when defeat is destined, then the pain becomes deeper.
State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal, who was defeated by a very small margin of votes in Srinagar seat, on Friday, when he came face to face with the state in-charge Devendra Yadav, the same anguish spilled out in the form of tears. On the other hand, veteran Congress leaders met the candidates and discussed the election results. The party will soon review the reasons for the defeat. Congress got only 19 seats. State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal lost from Srinagar seat by a margin of 587 votes.
